Default Found an interesting affiliate program, now a question

Hi All! I found an interesting affiliate program where I get a page with this company that sells stationary type stuff (looks really nice). Anyway basically I can get 20% of whatever I sell from my site. I dont know much about affiliate programs or anything so i would like some input on this idea. Basically I would have to either sell the ppl I know (not many) or try to direct ppl to click onto a link to my page. Im not sure how easy that will be or exactly how I would do it. In any case Im interested and would love some input!

Hi faiths13,

One of the ways I've been able to succeed with affiliate programs is to buy the products I recommend and post a review on my site. Over time, these pages may get some traffic from the search engines and people who are already on my site may find the page and read the review. The more related the product is to your audience's needs the better. I'd definitely recommend writing a personal review. Those perform much better on my site than just throwing up a banner or linking to the affiliate page with little explanation.

I have have written personal reviews on my blog on items/services I have purchased. Whenever I am looking to buy a new gadget I always read the reviews from previous customer's. I find that they are always more honest than reviews by corporations. I do, however, hate the reviews where someone simply bashes a product without any explanatoin.

well the way that this works is that I am actually trying to sell the items from the company myself. I wasnt planning an advertising really on any other web page I plan to make for this particular company and its products. I am not even planning to make a website that would even be related to stationary office products. So I dont know....
