You are doing well. While it might be supposed that you are "sweating the small stuff" too much, the fact is you are coming up with all these questions because you are doing one important thing that successful people always do while most people who fail often never do. You are thinking long term.

The farther one plans into the future the more successful they are going to be. Keep up the good work.

SBI!'s Action Guide says not to monetize until you've been accepted into a few directories. The AG says the directories (especially DMOZ) do not like to see affiliate links and those links could hurt your chances of getting accepted.

What are your thoughts on that?

That's true about DMOZ but I've sooooo given up on them. I've tried for 2 years to get my SBI! site listed. I submitted before affiliate links and after... still no luck. Thank goodness it's not considered as "important" as it was years ago.

Directories in general have lost their value as a whole. I still think it's worth getting into very niche directories that really fit within your niche but I stopped going after them about a year ago.

Thanks for the response Lisa! It's good to know that you can succeed without DMOZ. For some reason, I thought that was a very important one. I'm sure it would be great to be accepted, but I won't wait forever to hear from them.

Yeah, after reading over on SBI that they are not so important, I wasn't really worried about the directories anymore.

I am more afraid of applying to the different affiliate programs because I am worried I will be rejected due to lack of content!

I will, however, wait for Adsense until I have the 30 pages.
