Default Amazon Carousel Widget

The following post is on problogger.net, which talks about a fancy new widget that you can use if you are an Amazon affiliate.

http://www.problogger.net/archives/2...rousel-widget/

It looks pretty cool... but if I had the choice, I would prefer to have higher commission rate from Amazon instead of cool widgets

Still is pretty cool, though

Well that was pretty cool looking. I liked the site you pointed to as well. Thanks.

AAAAAMEN!!! I have probably sold nearly $10,000 worth of products from Amazon.com over the past 10 years and the commissions I have to show are pathetic! I really wish they would raise their commissions because you can find almost any product to sell.

I've never had any luck with Amazon at all, although I only signed up recently, to be fair. I get the sense that the moment someone sees the Amazon logo, they feel they may as well go directly to the website - but perhaps I'm wrong. It certainly seems as if one member here has sold pretty well if she's shifted $10,000 worth of merchandise!

I sold also quite a lot with Amazon, but then I removed it. A waste of time.

I use Amazon a lot so I was considering using it when I build my site. But now I'm having second thoughts - is it really that bad? Has anyone made any money using Amazon?

Yes, I make money from their program but it's a small part of my affiliate portfolio. Even though Amazon.com has a very low commission structure, it's good when you know you can sell a lot of a certain product but can't find an affiliate program for it anywhere. Amazon.com sells everything so it's always my fallback plan when I can't find other affiliate programs for specific products.

The widget looks cool.

I wonder how many visitors will click the arrows to watch the products go around compared to actually clicking on a product?

Whee.

That is a cool Carousel Widget from Amazon and it is really too bad they don't pay their affiliates a higher commission.

Although I know this thread is about affiliates, this post does however talk about the Carousel Widget and I thought this would be great to share with everyone.

Here's one that you can put any affiliate pictures in and link to your affiliates sites. It's pretty cool looking and it's free to download and use.

I have been experimenting with the carousel widget myself. It looks cool but will be interesting to see how well it converts, as that's the whole point right? One thing I don't like is they put a button on there that says "Get Widget". Most people who visit your site are not going to be interested in building their own widget at that moment so I thought that was sort of dumb on Amazon's part. I just thought that's an odd place to promote your own affiliate program.
