Default Maybe You Didn't Think of This?

Just maybe a little something for those people who are just getting started.

Now before I get bashed by someone here, I would just like to state that there are multiple ways to make money online. Some may possibly work better than others for some people. Just because I make money this way doesn't mean you will. OK?

Now. Are you familiar with an HTTP redirect through your domain registrar?.?. Well, you should learn how to do this as another tool in your pouch to be able to market effectively. Basically, you buy a domain, redirect it to your affiliate link via HTTP redirect, that way you don't have to spend the time to build a website. HOWEVER, in order to drive traffic to your domain, without using spam tactics... (naughty you), you will have to develop a marketing strategy that works for you. Whether this be paid advertising or real life streetside marketing, this is up to you. But either way, I know this method works. It still registers your affilate link and tracks it as long as you use an Http redirect. For those of you who like to streetside market, this could really work for you for 2 reasons.

For one, you don't have to build your own website. You just buy a domain for like 8 bucks a year, then you redirect it to the website you are an affiliate of.

For the next, it makes it look really good when your customer goes directly to the company site without having to pit stop on your site on the way there. Conversion rates can be much higher. $$

But like I said, you will have to devise a marketing strategy to get customers to go to your website. But i'm sure you can figure out an outstanding strategy (no spamming boys and girls). I have faith in you.

So there you have it. A free new method that is legit. Add it to your toolbox. Have a wonderful day!!!

I agree using http redirects for affiliate links are better than using the url they give. A good way to do it is to create a sub-domain such as sponsors.mydomain.com then create the redirects on the sub-domain. The problem is some people may be annoyed expecting to see a review or read about a product but instead being redirected to the company page with ?ref=837483483 in the address bar.

I saw a video the other day on Youtube from a guy who reviews technology (Chris Pirilo) and he has a domain called tagjag.com and uses this technique. He made a video about godaddy and had his tagjag redirect to godaddy and the comments suggested people were not happy because it was just a clear affiliate link, no review, no tips, no suggestions.

The only time I will ever buy from an affiliate link is if someone offered value to the product or gives their honest opinion. Normally If I’m going to buy a popular product I will think what website has shared an honest opinion about it. I guess this shows why Lisa is doing so well because she only promotes products she uses and loves.

Wow just noticed I have gone on a bit too much here. I apologise.

lol Not a problem sequence. Yeah, I agree with what you are saying. Sometimes people want a review on the product they are researching. Some people just browse for suggestions and new products. And, some people like to try out products for themselves regardless of if anyone else have reviewed it. There are a lot of people in the world and so many different types of buyers.

The post was just a general view of the technique for people to be able to be aware of. The trick to this is to know what your target markets buying decision is based off of. It is good to know whether the people who will be viewing and buying the product you have to offer care about a review, or just care about the specifications on what the product has to offer them.

If they know what they want, they may just compare products themselves. There is really no way to know this unless you conduct a survey or something of that nature. But either way, yea, sometimes people are looking for that specific review and may get annoyed. Another thing to consider is that not all people are URL savvy. There are still a lot of people who buy online but just use a computer as a general every day tool for personal enjoyment. So, some (not all) people don't even care about the URL. That is the problem with phishing scams.

Anyways, thanks for the reply and conversation starter. Always enjoyed.

You raised some great points! I agree there is so many types of buyer. I think the website building, web marketing niche is very hard because visitors will be so tech savvy. Although on my skateboarding site I’m certain 90% of my visitors do not know about AdSense or affiliate links. I do love this technique I just think it would be hard to get conversions without some content. Either way I plan to set up all the redirects on my site because I have recommended products inside my customers control panel. The problem is I already use .htaccess to redirect my visitors from http to https so when I try and create a re-direct I get an error.

Will be great to see what others think about this technique.
