Default any thoughts on the "referral" ads?

hello all,

I was just curious to get a sense of how everyone feels about the "referral" ads feature. I just began using AdSense about a week ago, and I must admit, I'm quite impressed. My site is less than 2 weeks old (I implemented AdSense 6 days ago), and I'm already bringing in around a dollar a day, and that number is only increasing. Anyways...

I understand the referral ad feature is fairly new, and I haven't been able to find many tips or user feedback on the topic. If anyone has implemented these ads, how have your results been? I put up my first couple yesterday, and I'm surprised as to how many clicks I've gotten. Conversely, I'm disappointed that these clicks haven't yielded any profit. I understand that the point of the referrals is to yield conversions for the advertisers, but I can't quite figure out how to generate more conversions without physical telling my readers to "sign up for service X."

As I said, I just started playing with these ads yesterday, so I have lots to learn. They seem very practical though, simply because there is no guesswork involved in presenting "my type" of reader with pertainite advertisements, because I get to physically pick the ads.

If anyone has any light to shed on referral ads, it would be much appreciated. They seem to be something that could be incredibly beneficial, but I cannot be certain.

thanks in advance,
Johnny

NOTE: while your at it, please check out my site and give me some feedback, either good or bad. I'm new at this whole process, and I could use all the help I can get. It's sort of a comedy blog about the wild little world we live in. It contains some NSFW language... so if you are easily offended please disregard this little note. Much thanks!

I'm assuming you mean the other referral products you can offer through AdSense where you earn a commission only when someone buys? Haven't tried them but I do know a few people who have and haven't had much luck with them. Again it all comes down to traffic and how relevant the ads are to your audience.

Regarding your review request, please post a separate thread in the Site Reviews section so we can keep this thread on topic. Thanks.

Default Referral Adsense

I have an email list with over 750 recipients and it increases daily. I have found that one of the referral ads pays off regularly when I include it in the page of interest for the day. It is rather weird though, I have never made more than .38 cents in a day from this ad. I have often wondered if Google has some sort of cap on it.
