Default Adsense Clicks Within A Forum

I wrote a letter to the Adsense support team recently about regular clicks within a forum from the same IP address. The response from the representative seemed to indicate that Google is more concerned about the publishers being protected than website owners getting credit for what really may be legitimate clicks. As a website owner who has invested a considerable amount of money and time into providing a place for the publishers to have there advertisements seen, I feel like I may be getting the short end of the deal sometimes.

I wonder if Google stops crediting Adsense clicks within a forum for visitors coming to our websites through hyperlinks that we have created in them. Especially if the visitors land on our website often from a particular forums address. If this is the case it would explain why I can have many visits to a particular websites page (where I have a lot of hyperlinks pointing to that page and not good SERPS yet) in a day and few credits for Adsense conversions.

I realize that these are just speculations. I am very pleased with the advertising program because I keep adding little by little and soon I will have a big hoard.

This is soooooo true. You should definitely download and read Make My Links Work by Ken Evoy (http://http://value-exchange.sitesell.com/mylw.exe). It gives you an in depth understanding of how search engines really work.

Most people think Google and other SE's exist to help us, the webmasters. SE's actually work for the publishers, the companies that are paying them to get noticed. That's who their customers are. Thus, these are the people that keep Google and the likes in business.

In a way we are getting the short end of the deal because we are not Google's top priority.

As an adsense user, have you ever paid Google for any type of service? No - it's actually the opposite. Google is sharing its profits with us.

However, the adwords users are relying on google to help them get seen. So that's whey they are Google's top priority.

I just want to clear up some terminology. We the website owners are considered the publishers when it comes to AdSense. The advertisers are the people whose ads we're hosting.

But yes, Google is definitely more concerned about protecting the advertisers because that's where the money comes in. IP addresses are never a fool proof thing to track because as we know, people can have the same IP address (i.e. employees at a corporation, etc.). So I'm sure from time to time we aren't awarded for valid clicks but hopefully it evens out in the end.

I guess we'll never know.
