Yeah that's always a tough one for me. If you use AdBrite.com to manage your ad space then they will set your prices for you depending on how much traffic you have. It's nice because the customer pays them instead of you but of course you have to pay AdBrite a commission. So at any time, a potential advertiser can look you up and see what your going rate is. AdBrite updates it accordingly based on your traffic.
OR you can choose to just use a monthly fee set by you. You don't have to use AdBrite's suggestions. You may think of starting there because the ads rotate on their own and go offline at the right date so you don't have to manage them yourself or worry about collecting the funds.
I used to use them for ads on my site and they were OK. I wish they had a few more customizable features but of course that's the price of outsourcing a 3rd party.
