Default Adsense clicks but no payment

Hi everyone,

Has anyone had the same problem as me? I'm getting clicks on my adsense ads on my website but not getting paid for some of them. Have I missed something about the system?

Sometimes the clicks may be for a PSA instead of an actual ad. In that case you don't get paid for those clicks.

Cheers TechieGuy. I was a bit confused. I actually thought the system had changed for some reason. Thanx again yeah.

Angry Adsense Help Please

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the forum, and new to trying to work a business using the internet. I have a question and that is. I am getting a lot of impressions in my adsense account but rarely get any clicks. I get between 2 and 300+ impressions and I never make any money. Is there something I'm doing wrong I have adsense on my website pages, but I don't understand why I'm not making any money in the account. Can someone help me understand why that is.

Thanks,
Martha

Hi Martha,

There could be a few reasons why this is. It could be the niche (some niches just ignore Google Ads), it could be the placement, color, or layout of the Adsense block, etc.

I think it's best if you shared a link to your page, and I will tell you everything I know Also, there are quite a few members who are experienced with Adsense, who I am sure will chime in too.

Sherif

By the way, Welcome to Website Babble!

Red face Adsense Help Please

Thanks Sherif,

The link to my site is www.incomeworking.com I appreciate anything any advice I can get to help me start earning in my adsense account. I get a lot of traffic to my website last month I had more than 5000 total visits and so far this month I already have over 2000, and as I said I get a lot of impressions but very few if any clicks and no money. My website offer simple home based business opportunities.

Thanks for all the help.
Martha

Martha,

If I had a website in the make-money-online niche and getting this kind of traffic a month, Adsense would be at the bottom of my monetization strategies. All the different programs you review, I am sure, pay out a lot more than Adsense would.

This is a tough niche. Are you generating income from the make-money programs? If you are, then I would focus on expanding that, if not, then I would address the reasons why I am not generating profit from that kind of traffic, but honestly (others may disagree) I wouldn't worry about Adsense in this niche.

Part of the reason this is the case, is that your target audience are interested in the information/reviews, and may not pay attention to the Ads. Further, experienced/savvy website visitors often ignore Adsense ads.

I hope this makes sense, and it may explain why you aren't getting clicks.

Sorry I threw my 2 cents in.

Now, to answer your original question... I think having the ads on the left hand side of the page may be an issue, i.e. they may be lost in the mix. If I were you, I would add adsense blocks between articles in the main content area. Try that on some of your pages and see if it helps your click-through rates.

Hope this helps.

Sherif

Thanks Shrif,

I really appreciate your 2 cents, and yes I am generating income from quite a few of the affiliate programs listed, although not very much income because I have only been up for about two months or a little more. I just thought that with the kind of traffic my site is getting and the impressions that I should be making something in my adsense account.

I appreciate your response and I will consider changing adsense layout. I will say that I am working very hard at getting my site visibility. I just had it optimized and resubmitted it to the search engines, and I'm hoping things will get even better for me money wise.

Thanks again,
Martha
