Can some one explain Adsense to me…

Do you only earn money from click thrus?

I get page views but the $ is always ZERO.

Does any one know the rules for pageviews/impressions?

I’m thinking of looking to a different ad system that pays for impressions as well as clickthrus…any suggestions?

Google does pay for impressions, but only for SOME impressions. The advertiser has to have paid for impressions.

The real way to make money with adsense (and most other internet advertising) is through click throughs.

The last time I looked at pay-per-impression (which was a long time ago) it was something like 30 or 40 cents per 1000 impressions. If you would be getting this kind of traffic (1000 impressions), I would think you would make more money with Adsense. Therefore, my recommendation is to stick with Adsense.

How much traffic/impressions are you getting per day?

Also, you can experiment with Adsense ad placement... some spots on the page are better/more noticeable, and as a result, you would get higher click through.

Below are some insights into adsense ads. NOT adwords...Two different programs. Adsense ads = you get paid when someone clicks on the ads that you have on your blog or website.

Adwords are when you pay to have your website on google's search engine sponsored listing. You really have to know what you are doing with adwords!

Adsense ads information:

1. The cost to join is nothing, zero, nada, free...where else can you join a make money opportunity program and make it without having to give out your credit card information.

2. All you have to do is add a small piece of code on your website or blog. This is relatively easy to do.

3. You get paid on time every month (providing you make at least the minimum which is $100.00 bucks). If you don't make the minium it carries over to the next month.

4. You can get your money by check or by direct deposit into your bank account.

5. The adsense program is a legitimate no nonsense online opportunity.

6. You do NOT have to ask your friends, relatives, or neighbors to join this program.

7. All you need is a website or blog and a little knowledge on how to promote it. This forum has lots of posts and threads of how to do just that.

8. This is NOT a get rich quick scheme. IT is a legitimate way to make money online. If you follow google adsense rules you can make a part time income, eventually you will make a full time living.
