Default Do internal links take clicks away from Ads?

I've heard that a good place to put ads is at the bottom of the page so your vistors have somewhere to next.

Do pages like these
http://www.successful-homeschooling....l-reading.html
that have internal links at the bottom to direct visitors to other pages within the website take clicks away from google ads?

That's tough to say. You really won't know until you try it. I would try a banner add directly above your first text link, or a vertical link unit aligned to the right of your internal links.

I have a page with about 6 external links, and a banner ad at the bottom. It gets a good number of clicks, but I just put it up a few days ago.

My CTR went up when I added Google ads at the end of my articles.

Interesting question, I always put internal links on my page and a small site map above all my articles so my visitors always know where they are and they don't leave my site after viewing just one page.

Well for example, you start off with one banner ad on your page and 9 internal links; you have a 10% chance of an ad click in link terms however if the visitor clicks another internal link and goes to another page you've increased the percentage to 20% and so on.

A lot of my pages are in sections like a book so they follow on from one another so I just put a text link to my next article leading on from the current under 'next'

Interesting, never thought that a bottom ad block can sometimes convert better, I thought that top and bottom ad bars are basically for CPM type of ads which basically never really catch the attention of a visitor.

I used to have Google ads at the bottom of my posts, and I found them to be very effective.

Since I redesigned my blog, I have removed the ads at the bottom. I'm thinking of putting them back there.
