With my hosting(GoDaddy) I have a basic stat page, and yesterday it says that there were 68 page requests. On my Adsense account it says that I only got 2 page impressions.(I have a Google Ad on every page) Why is this and which source should I trust?
Most of those stat packages that come with the web hosting companies use web logs to compute the stats. This can be misleading because some of those programs count every graphic on the page as a hit. So you could see 8 hits for today, but that could really be one person who visited a page with 7 graphics. I don't rely on the hosting counters that use web logs.
If you want a reliable stat package, install Google Analytics.
