Default Banned from Click Fraud!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone,

I have a question about Adsense. I was reading a blog and saw a video from "blogger A" describing how he got banned from Google and it wasn't his fault. Basically what "blogger A" explained was that his Adsense campaign was doing extremely well in his niche and "blogger B" that has a website in the same niche decided he or she wanted to be a "HATER" and started administering false clicks on "blogger A's" website. Of course google noticed the false activity and banned "blogger A". "blogger A" stated that he wrote them a really nice letter explaining that it wasn't him, so on and so forth, and the still rejected.

I had no idea that this can happen. I've heard about people stealing Adsense codes, but to just right out blatantly click on someone else's google adsense with motives to have them get kicked out of the competition is ludacris.

Has anyone heard of such cruel act, or experienced something similar?

Thankfully, I haven't experienced that, but I have definitely heard that some people do that. There are lazy and evil people everywhere, so I guess I am not surprised that this type of thing happens.

What I am surprised at, though, is to see that Google did not track who clicked on the ads. They have the capability... so I wonder why they didn't verify who clicked on the ads... OR... I wonder if Blogger A is at fault somehow, but he is pissed at Google for getting banned, so he just twisted what really happened to make Google look bad.

Who knows.

That's bad, It's sabotage... It's pretty scary to know that webmasters with high traffic websites (using adsense) can be affected easily by these kinds of actions.

What actually is Google's definition of a false click? And how does it currently differentiate between normal and false clicks?

i hear stories of some sites trying to take advantage of Google's AdSense program. This is probably why Google has to be very strict when it comes to these kinds of issues.

I think that's horrible as well but I do believe what goes around comes around so if indeed blogger B had malicious intent, it will come back to haunt him in some form. What a shame blogger A had to suffer because of that (assuming he told the whole story, as Sherif said.)

TxG, I don't think Google discloses what they track specifically (to prevent more fraud) but I would think it has something to do with IP addresses, number of clicks within a time period, etc.

I also read somewhere that Google takes into account how old your account is. They are generally more strict and monitor newer accounts much more closely but will give you a 2nd chance or investigate further if you've been around awhile and have no "strikes" against you. Not sure how true that is but it makes sense.

"What goes around, comes around" is exactly what will happen to people as such. It's just sad that when you put so much hard work in something that is right and someone comes along to do such things. I'm sure Google has thought about this and have some type of plan (if they don't already have one) in place to tell if acts like these are being done.

I just would sure hate it terribly if I've put in a lot of work in a potential niche project and that happens to me.

This is a definite issue for web developers such as ourselves however for people who have a substantial amount of traffic coming in every day a few clicks from the same IP simply would not make a difference.

I believe that in order to stay in googles good books you are recommended to keep CTR to at least 5 but with exceptions to 10. However any higher and bells start to ring.

But this is definitely quite an issue and google should definitely give the adsense person a fair chance to excuse himself.

I haven't known google for its good support and contact methods, its more of a self explanatory service.

I didn't wanted to create new thread.
I know that no-one should play games with Google Adsense but my question is that how they can ban website master/owner?

For example i create on site, submit this to them, somethings happens on my site and they ban me. What does it mean?
I cant never submit the same homepage url to them or they ban me forever somehow, so i cant submit any of my homepages to them for Adsense??

Im not banned or anything but i need to know, if something bad happens then i will loose all or i still have a chance to submit my pages to them.
Hopefully nothings happen with my site.

Weller, you are talking about 2 different issues here. There's being banned from the google search results and being banned from adsense. You could be banned from google search results if you participate in what they call black hat SEO (people who use tricky tactics to try and trick the engines). That's different from being banned from AdSense for clicking on your own ads for example.

Thats terrible for blogger A to loose a account just because some one clicked on his adsense ads intensionally so that he loose the account.

I wish online business will have ethics and not do any harm to some one if they can not beat them at game.

Ok, thanks for the aswser Lisa.
Let's see what they will tell me about my page.
Hopefully they answer soon.

Govindji_Patel

Yes, i have no issues yet with Adsense but i was reading some topics here about how Google banned or kicked someone for clicks.
They should really carefully work, to find out who, how and when clicked, before banning innocent people.

Default Do more than just adsense!

This actually happens more than what people think.

It is really important to diversify...Do your best to have several income generating opportunities to chose from. It is a big mistake to just have adsense income and nothing else.

You should do affiliate marketing, clickbank, CJ, Linkshare and hundreds of other online opportunities.

I am pretty sure that just about everyone here should agree on this.
