Default Losing $ to Public Service Ads

friends,

here is a serious dilemma of mine (Lisa calling for help because I know you have tackled this very well). as we all know google likes to display public ads when they can't match your content.

so recently i have been losing all my money to PSAs. i have been exploring the advance option in google where you are allowed to put in code from another advertiser. i found two alternatives that allow you to make ads like adsense, oxado and searchfeed, but i am not sure if adsense policy allows these?

when you email google no one responds. i am so afraid of getting my site banned. but i know the solution to this problem will help so many on this forum. it is a very common and bad problem for all of us ad publishers.

is anyone currently using alternative ads to adsense to maximize their earnings? if so any input would help. how is it going? any issues?

does anyone have other ideas to optimize adsense earnings other than what adsense tells you on their site (i.e. heatmap, color outlay etc). does anyone have anything unique and effective?

take care and thank you everyone for your help in advance!

Default Adsense is never enough

Google Adsense is never enough - try adding in text ads. Infolinks is the best for this - they provide intext ads which pay you more revenues and they don’t take space like adsense.

Default well...

true...but

1) that still doesn't solve the issue of where to redirect ads in the instance google only has PSAs to display.

2) can anyone list out some ad programs that can be run along with google adsense on the same webpage w/o google banning your site or blog

anyone to the rescue?

Ad Brite is the one that i know can be used with Ad Sense on the same page.

Lisa has these to the right of this forum and on her other sites which also run Ad Sense.

I think you should look in to Ad Brite. Depending on your niche there not normaly relevent but you can just offer advertising space on your. You can even set the adverts to aprove only so you can choose which avaliable ads show up on your website.

Regards

Jack

Default adbrite?

hi jack,

thank you for your recommendation. i looked at Lisa's site. it seems like her adbrite ads are just like her google ads. doesn't google require other ads to be different color? how is she able to do this w/o getting banned from google? G is very strict aren't they?

i also clicked her adbrite ad. it seems like most her ads are contextually matched and not paid for on a weekly/monthly basis. is this your understanding?

if that is true, then i assume adbrite lets you display contextual ads and gives visitors/advertisers the option to pay for fixed ads as well correct? this seems to be the best wya to monetize since you can earn from both kinds of advertisers (fixed and pay per click types). am i understanding this correct?

have you or anyone else heard of Oxado? any thoughts? Adbrite seems to be everyone's favorite here based on reading the forums. i am assuming they are the next best option after google. please correct me if i am wrong.

also, any thoughts on adbrite's other methods like full page ads and ads on pictures and video clips that are on my website?

thank you again that was a wonderful recommendations and i will look into it more and more

take care

Ok yeah they are very strict but from my understanding Lisa emailed Google and they said it was allowed. (correct me if im wrong)

I think i have heard Lisa say that she doesnt display any ads from AdBrite but only those who purchase from this website. But i could be wrong.

Yeah thats completly true, if you choose to display 2 of there ads and 2 people buy advertising from your site then the 2 contextual ads are replaced with theirs untill the period they paid for is up.

If you can't find any relevent ads you can choose the aprove ads option and simply not approve any ads, that way you can just display anyones paid ads.

Sorry i have never heard of them. After getting banned from AdSense i have tried so many but my favorite has to be Ad Brite.

I know a lot of websites use the inline ads but as for the full page ads i think they will just anoy your visitors too much.

Hi alexb,

First of all, you can actually turn off the PSA ads with AdSense and display your own ads when there are no relevant ads to display. Check your Google account for help on how to do this. I've never done it but remember reading that you could.

I do not use AdBrite's CPC program. I only use them to manage/display my 3rd party flat rate ads. So those are weekly and monthly ads that people are paying a flat rate for. I do not earn money for clicks on my AdBrite ads.

As Jack said, there are countless other ways to monetize your site (affiliate programs, etc.) so you should also diversify your monetization portfolio and try out many things. As far as ad programs go, I've only ever used AdBrite and AdSense and can't recommend anything else. But the rest of my income comes from recommending products that I'm affiliated with.

And yes, I did email Google and got clearance on using AdBrite in the way that I am using it.
