Default Ads don't match my content?

I finally signed up for Adsense last Tuesday. The content of the ads they are giving me have NOTHING to do with my content! My site is about nutrition and over this past week i have submitted 3 different times for ad codes and each time have got things back like "Best Cargo Trailer Deals" and "Watch Movie Clips".

I did find a link to "known issues" that says

Issue: The Advanced Reporting feature to "Show data by targeting type - contextual or placement" currently returns aggregate results, instead of results by targeting type.

Update: Our engineers are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible."

Like I said, this has been going on a week. Isn't that unusual?

I can't find how to contact them to get some idea of when I can expect some content related ad code.

thanks!

That is pretty unusual for a week. It normally only takes a day or so for the ads to start appearing targeted. Do you mind putting your site in your sig file so we can take a look? Do you have plenty of content on your pages?

What's the name of your site?

I always make sure URLs, title, meta tags, content and keywords are in line with whatever the type of advertisement that I want to appear on the page.

After a few minutes the ads start lining up with the keywords that I am focusing on.

^Does this mean that initially the ads can be one thing and then after a few minutes they can change to relevant ones?

Maybe thats what I missed....that they start as one thing and then change to contextually correct ones. I dunno, I've been messing with this all day and I'm ready to !!!

I saw something else on adsense site diagnostics:

View detailed diagnostic information about the pages Google crawls to display relevant ads.

If our crawler finds any issues with your pages, they'll be listed in the table below. We encourage you to resolve these issues in order to allow us to crawl more of your pages and provide relevant ads.

This crawl report is updated weekly, and we are unable to accommodate requests for more frequent crawling. Please also keep in mind that this report is not exhaustive.

Reason blocked:
Robots.txt file

I have no idea what robots.txt is. I am using SBI.

I'm also confused about how to get ad placement where I want it. I chose a vertical format to put on the right side of my page above the fold line, adjacent to my content, but it shows up replacing the content, with the content all the way beneath the vertical ad.

I am probably making this much more difficult than it is. Just when I feel I've learned how to do something new, like HTML, I feel like a total beginner again, learning something new, in this case adsense.

My URL is wellness-and-weight-loss.com -- be gentle. This is my maiden voyage into the world of the website.

thanks!

When I first ad Adsense to a page often times the ads are not relevant at first. Usually within a few minutes, the ads become relevant to the content. This is after the page has been refreshed a few times by me.

Try leaving them on the page for a day. Refresh it a few times and see if that takes care of it.

BTW...your site looks great.

Since you're using the SBI! block by block builder you'll have to use a table. In order to get the ads to display vertically and adjacent to your content you need to put the ads in a table and align the table to the left or right...

HTML Code:
<table width="120" align="right">
<tr>
<td>
INSERT ADSENSE CODE HERE
</td>
</tr>
</table>
Paste your vertical adsense code where indicated in the code above and paste the entire code near the top of your page.
