Default Adsense questions

Im wondering how many adsense ads I should put on a page. And do I need to generate a new code for every page to get different ads? And also, do I need to add keywords or something to get ads more generated to my site? The ads are somewhat geared to what my site is about, my not as much as Id like.

You might want to check out some other sites for suggestions on how many ads to place. I have two on my blog. One vertical tower next to the nav bar and one horizontal bar further down the page.

The ads will be generated based on the page content. Not so much your key words that you have listed in your meta data. Sometimes that's good and sometimes that's bad. On my site I had my last name 'Downey' in an <h1> tag as part of the name of the website. Google gave it a lot of weight and some several ads showed up for Downey, California and Robert Downey Jr, etc. I dropped my name and changed it to something more related to what was in the content and my ads immediately straightened out.

I believe you are only allowed three ad units per page (unless Google changed it).

I would test the positioning of the ads to determine what works best for your site. For me, putting ads at the top of my posts worked the best.

Also, I wouldn't recommend putting too many large ads on your site as it may overpower your content.

Not to be rude, but why not just log into your Adsense account and get the information you seek from the source? Plus, there is all kinds of very useful info on the Google pages related to Adsense and there's also the forum where you can ask such questions if you are concerned about a specific Google related topic. No slight against TG and Eric...just my own opinion. All the best.

no offense taken. i already figured it out and forgot about this post. also, the reason for asking was more for advice from others with experience.

Cool...and that makes sense. After re-reading your original post I realize that I may have read it wrong...my bad... But glad you figured things out. What did you end up doing if you don't mind me asking.

i just decieded on where i thought my ads would look good, then i generated three sizes with a couple differences in the color schemes. then i put them on pages that were about my main topics so they would generate ads about those things. i think it worked out ok.

Put the ads in places where you suppose the visitors will look. A great place is close to the navegation links, because they are seen many times and therefore the ads will be. If the page has many content, and ad below the content should work good, because when the user is done with the info he could want more "resources"
And make the advertising colors complimentary with the site design, so they resemble content.
