Best ad network for app website
I've just started a website focused on app ideas and I'm wondering if people have ideas for the best ad network to use.
I want to have ads respond to ideas that people are searching for/entering and to be specifically tailored to displaying ads for apps.
I've got a google adsense account, but haven't implemented it as yet, as I'm hoping there is something more specific to apps.
Any support will be greatly appreciated.
AdSense is not a PPC network. It's for publishers who want to make money from displaying the ads. AdWords is Google's PPC network.
Bing/Microsoft also has one and you could even use Facebook ads. These two will be cheaper than AdWords.
So are you planning to use PPC just to build traffic or are you just trying to sell something. If you're doing it for traffic, this can get very expensive. Usually people use PPC to get an immediate return on their investment.
I'm looking at the adsense account to actually display ads on my website as a source of revenue. I've spoken to some other people about adwords, and yes, I've heard that it's very expensive and not even that great for making money. So at this stage I'm trying to rely on free ways to drive traffic, such as forums and social media.
Do you know of any good alternatives to adsense?
Oh OK the reason I thought you meant PPC is because this was posted in the PPC/AdWords forum instead of AdSense (No prob, I'll move it).
Yes there are plenty of alternatives: Media.net, Chitika, Infolinks, Bidvertiser, Kontera, etc. Nothing really pays as well as AdSense from what I've heard though simply because AdSense has more advertisers and Google gets more traffic. But you can try them out.
Also you may want to consider BuySellAds down the road. They will find advertisers for your site, but there is a traffic requirement. So it's not ideal for brand new sites, but if you have traffic it can be a decent opp.
