Default Blooger & Adsense

If you use the Adsense feature that you can add in your blog straight from blogger, does the money still go into your account or do you still have to sign up with Google? I tried this once and got that square Adsense ad with the Hurricane Katrina stuff inside of it. I didn't get the list of text ads that you'd find on most Websites.

Assuming you have signed up for AdSense and been accepted yes, the ads that show up should be tied directly to your Google AdSense account. Google now owns Blogger so when you add your AdSense ads, they make it convenient to display your ads.

The Hurricane Katrina ads are PSA's (Public Service Announcments) and they usually show up on your site when Google can't find any relevant ads to match your content.

Hi Eric,

Can you please clarify? Do you or do you not have a Google adsense account?

I'm not sure about this but I don't think you can use the AdSense feature on
Blogger unless you have an AdSense account. I'm thinking it should give you some kind of error message, prompting you to sign up for the service. Even if it does let you post an ad, you won't get paid for it unless you have an AdSense account through google.

Yeah you have to join and be approved by AdSense first.

Sorry it took me so long, guys. So I would have to submit my site to Google and they'd check it out and decide whether or not to accept me, right?
