Finally did it today. One question though. For some reason when I tried to sign up my google account wouldn't register when I put it in for existing account so I made a new Google login. Does this mean that it made me a new account entirely or just a login for the adsense? The reason I ask is that on my old account I had all of my webmaster tools, sitemap, etc. Would I have to shift these to this new username and will it affect my account getting accepted?

With regards to your question, your other google account with webmaster tools and other things on it should still be working
