A few Questions

I will soon be applying for my adsense account as my 18th birthday is rapidly approaching. I was looking at the Sign Up form the other day to make sure that everything was in good shape. While looking through the policy I saw that Google would like for you to provide a sitemap. Is this necessary in order to be approved/keep your account? Also, when you apply how long does it take to find out if you were approved?

If Google suggests it, then I would do it. It's not that hard and there are many free sitemap generators out there where you just enter your site URL and it creates it for you.

Approval time varies. For me it was less than 24 hours but that was 6 years ago. I've also heard of people waiting a week or more. It depends.

Here is my reply from the other thread. Just to make sure you see it.

Google would like you to provide a sitemap because

- it's good practise
- they are a search engine so it helps them index pages with ease.

I really do not think AdSense will deny you just because you don't have a sitemap. You may as well create a sitemap anyway because it's good for SEO. Use this website:

http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/

Once your sitemap has been created, download the HTML version and the XML version. Now upload both of these files to your public_html folder. This may increase your chances of Google accepting your website

and it takes less than 10 minutes to complete to process.

It will take anywhere from a couple of days to a week to find out. It really depends on how many submissions they get. But they will always email you to let you know so do not apply many times if they haven't replied.

Thanks for the replies. That website you provided worked out great for me. My sitemap is currently pending in Google Webmaster Tools.
