Adsense plugin for WP blogs
For anyone that is using WordPress, there is an Easy Adsense plugin that allows you to determine where your Adsense ads are placed and, as you know, Adsense ads are derived from the words in your post or page. So, whether or not you think of your page as containing keywords, Adsense does.
As an example, if in your blog, you coin the phrase "Belly up to the bar" it's possible that your Adsense ads will be about belly fat or exercising eventhough your blog is about the amount of alcohol consumed in america (limp example but hopefully you get the gist). Within this particular plugin, you can choose where your ads are placed so, for me, I'm thinking that I will change my settings so that the ads only show on my static pages, as those are more informational and topic specific; however, I will stop them from showing on my blog which is more personal, willy nilly and lawd only knows what ad topics will be placed as a result. I'm thinking that Thesis has these same options.
**Very important**There is code prefilled in the Easy Adsense plugin so do not think that this plugin somehow "pulled in" your Adsense code. Take the existing code out and copy your own code into the alloted fields. There is no telling how many people have someone else's code on their pages thinking it's theirs.
Now this is no excuse for not putting serious thought into your keywords as, another plugin, called Blog Exchange and a few others can be activated to place blogs of similar topics to the bottom of your posts. Think of it as a "related links" type thing. The good thing about this is that you pull similar topics from other blogs and your topics show up in someone else's blog. If you aren't specific (trust me, I know) you can end up with blogs relating to the FDIC because you coined the phrase "Don't bank on it".
Hope this is helpful to someone.

I was looking for a good plugin for my wordpress blog but for some reason it is not working out too well for me. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I don't know if it is my theme but Adsense and Wordpress aren't working too well for me.

From what I can tell, you ads look very professionally placed. What isn't working? Or, are you saying that you these ads yourself without using a a plugin?

Not on my website. On wordpress blog I can't seem to find a way to insert my adsense. Do you think it is the theme? Maybe I am just doing something wrong.

There appears to be several Adsense widgets. I'm using the Easy Adsense widget and if I'm not mistaken, you might have to add something to your code. Another thing is sometimes the widgets aren't compatible or they haven't been tested with the newer themes. Look for a newer version, if a 1.blahdy.blah. I found one widget that allows you to customize EVERYTHING but it only works on the older themes. Might be worth changing (again).

I might have to change my theme but it really goes well with my niche. I tried Easy Adsense and it worked but my add was not tennis related at all it was something totally not related to anything on my site lol. Maybe I will try it again and see if it does the same thing.
- I am using the easy adsense now and the ad is on Solar energy. It also looks weirdly placed. Maybe some of you expert word press users can help me out on this one.

For ads to show up on your page -
Choose the type of ad you want through adsense.google.com - Adsense Setup/Adsense for Content/Ad Unit (up to you)/Format. My ads are 468x60. I've copied my code into the Easy Adsense plugin but if you already have already created smaller ads within Adsense then you don't have to do all that. Just copy them into these boxes and save.
- Lead-in an set the alignment to Beginning of Post/Center
- Mid-Post with the alignment of Center
Also, the Unreal link is a setting at the bottom of the Easy Adsense settings. I didn't realize that it would show whether or not you have ads running.
Now in regards to the Solar ad:
Within Google Adsense under the Adsense Setup/Ad Review Center, you can block certain types of ads and under Adsense Setup/Allowed Sites you can choose to allow any sites to display ads or only specific ads to show. Since your site is so targeted, I think this is the one that may work for you.
Hope some of that is helpful.

Idk what I did but thanks BreLove!!!! My ads are now targeted now instead of having the public service ads that had nothing to do with my niche.
It seems like Easy adsense isn't that easy lol.
Brelove, do you randomly get a square ad near your posts sometimes?

You're welcome.
Yep, but mine shows up near the bottom, really close to the sidebar. Thank you for asking, I thought that maybe I'd goofed up the code somehow. It's obviously a glitch.
Also, although I've changed all of my ad colors to black/grey/white I have one phantom blue ad that will show up....it's crazy. As a matter of fact, the blue ad is sometimes the one that's at the bottom of my posts. Every once and a while I get caught up in chasing it.

Yeah, that is exactly the ad i was referring to!! The blue phantom ad as you described it. It comes out of nowhere but when I refresh the page it goes a way. I wonder if some one clicks on the ad will that be credited towards me or to the Easy Adsense creator? Very suspicious

I've made a few changes and the "phantom" appears to be gone. Under the "Post Lead-out AdSense Text (Appears near the end of the post)", in Easy Adsense, I choose the "Suppress Lead out ad" option for Ad Alignment. Like you, I don't have any code in that box so I'm not sure why it matters but it appears to have fixed the problem.

Also, to your other point, there's a "Support Easy Adsense by sharing ad space" that's automatically set at 5% so....you are correct. The creator is able to post his ads as well, which is probably that indecisive phantom. lol!

Ok Mrs. Wordpress Adsense Master lol. I had it set for suppress lead out ad and when I would click on the actual post you would still see the creators name by my post which was annoying. So, I put no ad blocks in post and then I changed the donated adspace to 0%.
It seemed to have done the trick!!!
Thanks for the help again with the adsense plugin and the creators "phantom" lol.
