payment question

I got my first payment issued Aug 21 and it came by the end of August. However I have not been paid since. Is there something wrong or does google hold payments for this long?

Google doesn't hold payments unless you request them to. Did you reach the $100 limit for payout by Google?

You should have received check from adsense then. You should contact their support team.

see thats when my first payment was issued and i havent been paid since then.

You will not get paid again until your balance reaches $100 again. As of the end of September, you are at $77 (total for what you earned in Aug. and Sept.). You have to have earned at least $100 by the end of each month in order to be paid each month. Otherwise, they will continue to roll your current monthly earnings over to the next month until it reaches or exceeds $100.

I got paid for my earnings of 103.45 on October 27th and still have $58.45 in there. But like the above poster said. You and I won't receive our next payment until we reach $100.00 or more again.
