GoDaddy do a cheaper domain names but the two companys are almost identical in prices, features its all down to personal preference.

However personally I would stick with Hostgator as you have it all in one and if you come across any problems they can assist you with them as you have everything registered with them.

But you could use Godaddy and Hostgator together just buy the domain from Godaddy and select the option in Godaddy to use your own domain and then change your name servers on your Godaddy domain control panel.
