Well before you mentioned web designs and application building, you could always try googles API codes and then perhaps post it on your site, along with your HTML Templates monetized with a few ad units.

Or it could be a kind of E-Portfolio website with all the stuff you've built over the years with like a gallery or something.

You could create just a normal templates and create .ZIP downloads of templates etc. for free and just promote your site really well, there's a big demand for html freebies.
