I am looking for a free place to get a domain. My wife and I run forums in several languages. I am developing an English language forum and do not want to pay a company for a domain name, uif it can be legit avoided.. I just bought the services of a guy on eBay. He gets a commission from the providor, as it should be. Then I find that there was more to it. I payed him a very small 34.95 which was supposed to be for the page, and I find out that it was just free $$$ to him. At this point he has no credability and I do not want to do business with him further. he can keep the 35 and I will call t a cheap lesson.
He registered a domain and said he got it from ICANN. He has low cred with me for the moment, and I can be the one that is wrong and he is correct. I did not pay a penny for what he did. If he can do that I can,, too. (no ICANN pun intended. . I just want to know how. If it cannot be don, where can I get the domain free or very low cost with a great deal for a phpbb.
