Chris,
You better not give up-

Let me share with you MY story. I was laid off from my IT job last summer, NEVER thought it would happen to me but it did. I like to write and I like computers so I decided to put the two together and try to do something with it. I bought SBI, started initially with a niche which I ended up not liking because I realized I wasn't passionate or excited about it. This made me feel a little sad....no, actually I was mad at myself-

I sent an email to the SBI folks asking them if it was too late to change my subscription, domain, etc. and they said yes!
The second go round, I took my time, went through the action guide a second time, watched videos of other SBIers and I learned that I can write/share something on what I know, what I'm passionate about and what I know others can learn from me, so I came up with the niche for my current site and I'm currently writing content in my notepad so I can add pages/content to my SBI site.
This took a few weeks for me to do this (choosing another niche). I say this to say, you are NOT alone in feeling this way. The thing is, you can't give up. Take a break if you need to but don't stay away. Take a break, think about what you know, what you'e passionate about, what is is that you can share with others - that's your niche!
Everyone gets discouraged but you shouldn't stay discouraged, think positive and don't give up. Giving up is easier than hanging in there and trying. I think you'll come up with a great idea. If you feel good about something, it will work out. That's my three cents-
Keep us posted!
