If you are planning to install blog software on a hosting site, the WordPress is a good choice. If you use their hosting service, however, you can't use adsense unless you go with a paid plan.
Blogger.com (owned by Google) is probably the best choice if you are looking for a free blog with adsense. They allow to use your own domain if you have one or you can create a domain through blogger that will be something like this: yourblogname.blogspot.com. Not the greatest but it's free.
Blogger.com makes it easy to add adsense and each new post is a new page. Overall the best choice unless you want to use your own host.
