Depends what you want on your website, since hostgator and maybe go daddy oversell if your website gets big then there can be problems, this has happened a lot.
What happens is some hosts sell there webspace so much they have to resell it again to make enough money to make profit ( in basic terms) so say for example I had 1GB space which I bought for $100 a year, then I sold it to you for $50 a year. I didnt make any money infact I lost money so what they do is sell it again and again. And since people usually buy more space then they need, there isnt always a problem BUT if your website does get popular or you use a lot of website you could overload one of their servers and they will delete your website and not back it up (worst case). So just be careful. This has happened at many of the main web hosts as well as the less popular ones.
