Robert I agree with James we need a little more information.
If you just needed to transfer your website to a new hosting provider....Then it should have been transparent to you.
I have done this myself but encountered no problems. The new hosting provider did the transfer...All I did was make sure everything was working.
new passwords, email, scripts, etc...
Oh by the way never tell your old hosting service that u are in the process of transferring your website. IT can be done without their knowledge!
