The first thing I noticed is that on your homepage you immediately start talking about how you need traffic. Think about your audience. They are interested in the group so you need to get them excited about what you plan to talk about on your site. Draw them in. Don't make them read about how you need to get more traffic because people are impatient and will get bored quickly.
Draw them in and build more pages and point them there. Your homepage should always excite your audience about the topic of interest. So rather than talking about you and your site, talk about the group, what you love about them and how this site is going to entertain them.
