Success with affiliate programs is all about this...
1) Finding a niche and understanding the people's needs.
2) Communicate with them in a way that is helpful without trying to over sell. 3) Make recommendations and show that you use the product
Doing this builds your credibility no matter what the topic of your site is and no matter who your audience is.

mmmmm? It seems that those people in weight loss and web hosting would want more information that you could provide and would sign up on your capture page. Also, while building credibility, and relationships I assume, having them on a personal list would give you a better way of building that relationship.
