I've got this weird but often true thought. Dont you think that today's internet audience has become more and more savvy? I think that whenever they see adsense ads which interest them, instead of clicking them, they probably smile an evil smile and note the URL of the advertiser and open it up in a new window. This way the webmaster gets deprived of his rightful income and the advertiser gets a kinda free visitor! For one, I often do this!

What do you guys think?
I think that's true in certain niches. For example affiliate marketers and webmasters recognize AdSense ads and often ignore them, but audiences in other niches are not as aware.

When I explain to my friends about AdSense many of them have said they've seen these ads on other sites but didn't realize the webmasters got paid for them. Some of them just thought they were part of the site's content (which is good) You'd be surprised how many people still don't know about Adsense and how it works.
