More reading, I know... but it's worth it.
My husband is a lot like you. He's a developer and is good at developing sites in almost any language. He laughs at the simplicity of my website but my site gets 100-150 visits per day after only a month. His sites look swift but they aren't search engine friendly and none of them get any traffic and it's been years since he developed them. He still thinks I don't know what I'm doing but I know he secretly hates that I get more traffic than him. LOL
